Pelagic ObservationsCreated in June 2012, this work has been transformed through the years. Innitally the bags of seawater were all clean and clear. After the piece was shown it was packed in such a way that the some bags leaked, and the exterior of the bags were covered with the saltwater. The missing seawater was replaced and damaged labels were replaced. Over the years the saltwater has caused the clips to rust and labels to peel. Some of the water within the bags has also changed by growing bits of alga. While it may seem that the piece has been degraded, I feel that the changes over time have only enhanced the piece.
